Chinese Bible Study 2025-2026

It’s been a couple of weeks since we began, but I am putting on a new Bible study course hosted by The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC. Where in the past I simply was teaching extemporaneously through the Bible starting with Genesis, the problem was it would take a lifetime to get through the entirety of the Bible. While the students enjoyed it, the Mobilization Ministry that hosts us felt we would be better served by using an already developed and proven course that would get us through the Bible, as an introduction, within 30+ classes. Of the options presented, I settled on “The Story of Hope” by Good Soil since they already had much of the material already translated into Chinese. As a bonus, I throw in copious amounts of English vocabulary to complement the Mandarin. So far, reception by the class attendees has been positive. I do adjust the content some to fit the class and ensure time is well spent. I am also looking forward to eventually getting certification in Good Soil’s training pipeline and seeing what more I can personally learn and transfer to my students.
